Spring Break often conjures images of sandy beaches and leisurely days, but what if you could make this break more meaningful? Heart of Florida United Way invites you to join us for an Alternative Spring Break, where you can spend your time giving back to the community and making a tangible difference right here in Central Florida.
From March 16 to 22, students of all ages, along with their families, are invited to participate in community service activities held throughout the week of March 16. You can join us for one opportunity or multiple — but every volunteer hour will make a difference for our community.
One of the highlights of our Alternative Spring Break is refreshing the Born Learning Trail, a beloved community resource that offers educational and interactive experiences for children and families. By lending a hand to repaint the trail, plant flowers, and tidy up the surroundings, you can ensure that this valuable resource remains vibrant and accessible to all.
Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to assist with sorting and packaging supplies for group activities, designing group packages for various projects, and creating financial literacy kits. These activities not only benefit the community but also provide valuable learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth.
For those who enjoy hands-on crafting, join us in making no-sew fleece blankets for the Community Baby Shower. These blankets provide comfort and warmth to newborns and their families, and your contribution will be deeply appreciated.
Furthermore, we’re hosting a collection drive for baby, hygiene, and food items to support local families in need. Whether you’re able to donate items or volunteer your time to sort donations, every contribution makes a difference in the lives of those facing hardship.
Participating in Heart of Florida United Way’s Alternative Spring Break is not only an opportunity to give back but also a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and build lasting friendships. Together, we can create positive change and foster a stronger sense of community in Central Florida.
So, why not make your Spring Break count this year? Join us for Alternative Spring Break and experience the joy of giving back while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
