LIVE UNITED VOLUNTEER EVENTS
The Volunteer Resource Center plans several unique volunteer events throughout the year that make large-scale differences in our community.
These events offer family-friendly opportunities, and include the following events:
Week of Action – During the month of January, HFUW collaborates with local nonprofit organizations to present a week of volunteer opportunities to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These activities include beautification projects, mentor moments, and other exciting opportunities to support your community at large.
Share the Love – Traditionally inspired by Valentine’s Day, this alternative date opportunity invites volunteers to “share the love” through an ever-changing volunteer activity. Past years have included no-sew blanket making and Friendship Soup kit packing to support local organizations.
Community Baby Shower – This summertime activity invites volunteers to help prepare gift packs and support distribution at the resource fair-style Baby Shower evening to provide families with information and items to support a healthy start for their newest addition.
Thanksgiving Project – Occurs annually 1 week prior to Thanksgiving (November). Volunteers work together to package meal kits and distribute via drive-thru to share support and smiles during the holiday.
