Empowering Innovation: HFUW’s Carolyn Shermer Completes MIT Executive Program on Artificial Intelligence

Carolyn Shermer Headshot

In the fast-paced world of technology, it’s important to try to stay ahead of the curve — especially when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI). Carolyn Shermer, Senior Vice President of Information Technology, here at Heart of Florida United Way has recently achieved a significant educational milestone by completing the Executive Program on Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy at MIT.

The Executive Program on Artificial Intelligence, offered by the MIT Sloan School of Management and the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), is a six-week online course designed to challenge common misconceptions surrounding AI. What sets this program apart is that it takes a closer look at the organizational and managerial implications of AI, instead of focusing on technical intricacies.

The curriculum of the program aims to give participants the knowledge and confidence to embrace AI as a strategic tool. By focusing on broader implications of AI technologies, Carolyn and her fellow participants were able to explore how AI can be integrated into business environments.

Our entire team congratulates Carolyn for this outstanding educational achievement and appreciates everything she does to LIVE UNITED. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact her time in this course will have on innovation at Heart of Florida United Way!
