Heart of Florida United Way Kicked Off the New Year with Our Week of Action in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Blog Week of Action Recap 2023

As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.”

In honor of Dr. King and his legacy of service, Heart of Florida United Way’s Volunteer and Resource Center hosted our third annual Week of Action to unite volunteers to serve their community between January 15 to January 21.

This year, we partnered with the following non-profit partner agencies: Early Learning Coalition of Seminole County, The Sharing Center, UCP of Central Florida, Pace Center for Girls, and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Volunteers across Central Florida joined us to help beautify our community through landscaping and outdoor beautification projects, sorting and organizing donated items, making blankets for our annual Community Baby Shower, reading aloud to children, and more.

Thank you to each of our volunteers who took action with our Week of Action volunteer projects throughout Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.
