Vivian & Bianca’s Story
Vivian was so excited by the birth of her first child, Bianca. However, by the age of 18-months-old, Bianca had not yet reached a critical milestone for most children her age: talking. Concerned about her daughter’s development, Vivian decided to reach out for help.
Help Me Grow
Help Me Grow, a United Way program that helps parents and guardians identify developmental delays and connect them with community resources, assessed Bianca. Experts determined that Bianca did have a speech delay. Help Me Grow helped Vivian connect with community resources and programs to help her daughter develop her communication skills.
Bianca has shown significant progress, already beginning to form full sentences after a month of speech therapy.
