FREE Tax Preparation Sites
Each year, there are over 30 FREE tax preparation sites in our community that will help you prepare your tax return. These sites can help you get 100% of your tax refund quickly and easily – usually in less than 10 days.
Plus the sites are conveniently located within community centers, libraries, schools, colleges, shopping centers and other public locations.
Items you MUST bring with you to prepare your tax return:
- Social Security cards for you, dependents and/or spouse
- Photo identification for yourself and your spouse
- All forms, W-2s, and 1099s
- Information for other income
- Information for all deductions/credits
- A copy of last year’s tax return (if you have a copy)
- Proof of account for direct deposit of refund (e.g., voided check)

Sites are generally open Feb. 1 - Apr. 15 and no appointment necessary except where noted. Sites are closed on holidays. All information is subject to change.

* There are two kinds of free tax preparation sites in Central Florida: the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites and AARP’s Tax-Aide sites. Both types of sites file returns electronically and will assist filers of any age. However, the VITA sites will typically only accept people whose income does not exceed the EITC’s maximum income ceiling (about $49,000), whereas the AARP sites will assist those earning up to about $100,000. Also, VITA sites are generally designed only to help people file their tax return for the current year, whereas the AARP sites will also help people amend past tax returns and assist with other more complicated tax returns.
