Heart of Florida United Way's Board of Directors provides leadership and sets policy for our organization. Board members serve as stewards of community dollars, they also understand United Way's legal responsibilities, review and approve annual budgets and oversee agency and program funding decisions.
These dedicated volunteers represent every facet of community life and are an invaluable asset to United Way and those we serve.

Chairman Bill Wilson, Executive Partner of Holland & Knight LLP, is a board certified trial lawyer who specializes in trial practice with an emphasis on significant litigation. A member of the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission and the SunTrust Central Florida Board of Directors, he previously chaired the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Commission of Mid-Florida. |

Vice Chairman J. Christian (Chris) Fenger, President of Bright House Networks Central Florida Division, provides executive leadership for the region’s largest digital TV cable company. In serving as Chef’s Gala co-chair, 2007 through 2009, Fenger helped raise more than $543,000 for people in need. He also serves on the board for WMFE Channel 24 and chairs the Boy Scouts' annual food drive and Eagle Scout Dinner. |

Treasurer James B. Cross, Managing Partner of Cross, Fernandez & Riley, LLP, is a certified public accountant who leads one of Central Florida’s premier accounting and business advisory firms. Prior to joining C/F/R, Cross was a managing partner with BDO Seidman offices in Memphis and Orlando. He also served with the international accounting firm, KPMG. |

Secretary Avido Khahaifa, Senior Vice President, Director of Content for Florida and General Manager for Orlando Sentinel Communications, is responsible for the company’s daily operation and directly supervises its editorial and human resources departments. A graduate of Florida A&M University, Khahaifa has extensive experience in leading newspapers across the state. He also serves on the Florida Press Association Board of Directors. |
