As United Way prepares to launch its 2010-11 campaign, one of Central Florida’s top business executives has stepped forward to lead the effort.

Sandy Hostetter, President of CNLBank, recently agreed to chair the campaign, which each year raises millions of dollars to help fund local agency programs operated by the Coalition for the Homeless, The Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Clubs, Seniors First and many more.

“I have long been a supporter of United Way and am honored to serve as this year’s campaign chair,” Hostetter said. “This community has been richly blessed with great prosperity over the years, but today thousands of people – including many who were once United Way donors themselves – are now in need of assistance.”

“For those of us fortunate enough to be able to give, we must dig deep to help our neighbors and this community as a whole, get back on its feet,” she added. “I have great faith that Central Floridians will look no further than the I-4 corridor to see the tremendous need in our community and come together through organizations like United Way to fill it.”

Perfect Fit for Leading Campaign

United Way President/CEO Robert H. (Bob) Brown said Hostetter’s leadership, business expertise and awareness of community issues make her a perfect fit for leading the campaign.

"Sandy is a highly respected business leader who has an insightful understanding of community need – and a passion for doing something about it,” Brown said. “Given her influence, determination and talent for inspiring others, we’re very excited about what we will accomplish together.”

Hostetter, who was named Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser in 2008 by the Central Florida Association of Fundraising Professionals, is active in many community causes. She most recently co-chaired – along with Peter Kacheris, Managing Director of the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek – the 18th Annual Chef’s Gala, United Way’s single largest fundraising event of the year.

Prior to joining CNLBank in 2002, Hostetter served as Chief Executive Officer of Florida Community Partners, a not-for-profit lending consortium that specialized in financing for affordable housing communities.  From 1982-92, she was Vice President of Corporate Banking for Barnett Bank of Central Florida.
