18th Annual Chef’s Gala – Another Delicious Success!

Extraordinary food, fine wine and outstanding community support combined to make the 18th Annual Chef’s Gala another resounding success enjoyed by nearly 1,000 guests.

Held Saturday, May 15 at Epcot® World Showplace, Chef’s Gala featured tantalizing cuisine from more than 20 of the region’s top chefs, as well as thoughtfully paired wines, desserts and specialty coffees.

After making a red carpet entrance, nearly 1,000 guests sipped champagne and James Bond martinis while bidding on fine art, jewelry travel getaways and other exclusive items featured at the silent auction.

Helping Local People in Need

"United Way helps improve the lives of one-in-five Central Floridians, many of whom have always played by the rules,” said Sandy Hostetter, President of CNLBank, who served as Chef’s Gala Co-Chair. “But this economy has rocked even the most stable lives, which is why this year’s success is so rewarding.”

“Dollars raised by Chef’s Gala will help fund agencies that are working to alleviate hunger, homelessness and other serious problems," added Co-Chair Peter Kacheris, Managing Director of the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. “It’s why we truly believe Chef’s Gala is a tasteful way to make a difference.”

Many Thanks

Chef’s Gala was hosted and sponsored for the 18th year in a row by WALT DISNEY WORLD®. Thanks to generous support from Disney and other sponsors, nearly 95% of every dollar raised goes to help Central Floridians in need.

United Way wishes to thank all the sponsors, vendors and individuals who contributed to the success of this year’s event, including silent auction co-chairs Ed DeAguilera and Belinda Ortiz, Economic Development Director for the City of Kissimmee.
